Welcome to 2015 lovelies! I originally had my first post of 2015 to be something different. Something waaaaaayyyyyy different, but alas 2015 hasn’t started out as smoothly as I want. But that’s okay, life lessons for the future.

There’s a lot of content that I’ve prepared, but there’s just a teeny, tiny (Jenny, stop exaggerating), its a actually huge hurdle that I have to overcome before anything goes live. That hurdle is life. I’m being 100% serious. I don’t know if i've mentioned it before, but whilst most university students have been relaxing in their 3 month summer break, I’ve been taking additional classes along with extra hours at my workplace to help with the demanding and increasing summer shoppers. Don’t get me wrong, I am forever grateful to be blessed with the opportunity to learn and have a job but for quite some time that’s all i’ve been doing. Sleeping, eating, studying and working. I’ve barely had time allocated to myself since last October and in between everything, I’ve been working on a special project. To say i’m burnt out is putting it mildly.

As of recently, I’ve started to free up some time. Though I’ve cut back on my sleeping hours, I can say I’ve haven’t felt more awake nor inspired in such a long time. Being awake for more hours and with the kindness and forgiveness of my friends for dragging them out of their bed very early in the morning, I’ve started to finally pen down some friends and family time, which i count as me time. I’ve caught up with how they’ve been doing, done some much needed shopping, had lunch with friends and family at new places I was eager to discover back in 2014 and have gone back to places that once inspired me and still do.

In 2014, I introduced the notion of Confidence is Key as part of my annual goals. Though introduced, I know I very lightly touched upon the subject throughout the year. I can’t change the fact that I indeed forgot about it until my year in review post, but I can change how I’ll handle this year’s goal. So if you’ll kindly give me a soft drum roll…

The goal of 2015 is...

to cherish all 86,400 seconds in a day.

I know that sounds confusing, but I think the story below will help clear any of it up.

Imagine there is a bank account that credits your account each morning with $86,400. It carries over no balance from day to day. Every evening the bank deletes whatever part of the balance you failed to use during the day. What would you do? Draw out every cent, of course? Each of us has such a bank. It's name is TIME.

Every morning, it credits you with 86,400 seconds. Every night it writes off as lost, whatever of this you have failed to invest to a good purpose. It carries over no balance. It allows no over draft. Each day it opens a new account for you. Each night it burns the remains of the day. If you fail to use the day's deposits, the loss is yours. There is no drawing against "tomorrow." You must live in the present on today's deposits. Invest it so as to get from it the utmost in health, happiness and success! The clock is running!! Make the most of today.

The END

Not to sound bleak, but the future is uncertain. It could turn into something absolutely amazing, your dream, but it can also be the complete opposite. Though one should prepare themselves for the future it is also important to live in the now. I’ve started to live in the present, and I can assure you its made me much healthier (in the sense that I’ve been destressed), happier (less stress and more family time) and inspired. I want you as my readers to feel how taking advantage of every second of every day and acknowledging that you have the present can help you in many aspects of your life. It’s helped me in the ways i’ve mentioned above, it could help you the same maybe even more, but you never know until you try it!

So cherish all 86,400 seconds of a day and make the most out of it!
